Private Sessions:

At Ashley Baker Yoga, I'm happy to offer private lessons to fit your needs. It's a joy and honor to work with students like you one-on-one.

Why Schedule Private Sessions?

Students seek private lessons with me for various reasons. Consider private lessons if you …

- Have a work or family life schedule that precludes your participation in scheduled group sessions

- Are a beginner who wants to build up your confidence and knowledge, working toward the goal of joining a group class

- Are an advanced student desiring one-on-one attention and instruction in order to deepen your practice

- Are dealing with stress management and high levels of anxiety

- Have injuries that require positional modifications, or have an illness or special need that prevents you from traveling to and from group classes

- Simply desire an hour of quiet time and focused attention in the midst of a full life

Best Practices and Policies:

- I offer 1 hour sessions at various times of the day and week, in order to best support you and your schedule. Contact me at 256-740-7239 regarding session availability.

- Private sessions are available in the privacy of your own home, or at the Shoals Yoga Studio (English Village, 1629 Darby Drive, Florence, AL, 35630), whichever you prefer.

- If you need to reschedule or cancel your private lesson for any reason, simply contact me at 256-740-7239 at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled lesson.

- A yoga mat and props (including blankets, bolsters, blocks, straps, and eye pillows) are provided for your comfort and convenience.

- Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled session time; this way, you'll have time to settle in and relax, and begin your session on time.

- Try not eat within 2 hours of our session; you'll be better equipped to focus on your practice if your digestive system isn't hard at work!

- The use of organic essential oils is complimentary for each private session.

General Yoga Class Descriptions (adapted from ShoalsYoga.com):

To register for classes with me at Shoals Yoga, visit the Shoals Yoga Schedule page.

Beginners Yoga: This class is ideal for anyone new to yoga and interested in exploring its benefits. This is a class in which you are empowered 'learn the ropes' and build the foundation of a yoga practice. While coming to a new yoga studio can be intimidating, know that you are always welcome exactly as you are, with or without past yoga experience.

All Levels Flow: This class will help you build strength, increase flexibility, and find focus. It is a challenging and dynamic Vinyasa series (meaning that breath is linked to movement). It is moderately paced, allowing you to learn fundamental postures and principles to create a successful, effective yoga practice. This class is set to music, and it will invigorate your entire body and mind.

Hot Yoga: Ready to sweat? Hot Yoga is a rigorous class with demanding strength postures that will have you moving, breathing and sweating! True to its name, a Hot Yoga class focuses on building and engaging your core strength to support you in more advanced postures. The room is heated to around 90 degrees – this class scorches calories!

Flow and Restore: This is the perfect class to end your day and help you gracefully glide through midweek stress. You will practice a challenging vinyasa flow sequence, followed with nice, long stretches and restorative poses to soothe your body and mind.

Stretch and Restore: Stretch and Restore is designed to help heal the effects of chronic stress due to our fast paced, busy lives. Each class will focus on proper breathing, and a series of longer-emphasized stretches that reach the deeper tissues of the body. Restorative postures and breathing techniques calm and balance the central nervous system. This class includes slow, prolonged stretches and supported poses using props such as blocks, blankets, and straps. Class ends with a deep relaxation, including practices such as guided mediation and yoga nidra (yogic sleep). Teachers use soothing, therapeutic-grade essential oils and hands-on adjustments to help you sink deeper into poses and relaxation.

Free Flow: A donation-based class open to everyone
